Porsche Designs a New Way to the Top of the Mountain

I know you were expecting a post about the new Porsche 911 all wheel drive "4" variants now available at Beverly Hills Porsche but SURPRISE instead we want to show you the Porsche Design ski lift just introduced in the Swiss ski destination of Laax.

Porsche Ski Lift in Films Dorf  Switzerland
The Porsche lift seats six people in comfortable contoured heated chairs. Each set of six chairs is capable of rotating up to 45 degrees so you can take in the surrounding mountain views instead of staring into the backs of the chair in front of you.

The system is also solar powered making it the first of its kind.  And what about speed? After all it is a Porsche. The lift ascends the mountain with a top speed of 18 feet per second.

A-ha! It's a Porsche Thing Now

"Take on me...take me on." -Aha!  Just another synthpop group or a new technology adopted by Porsche?

Porsche Aha for PCM Porsche Communication Management
Porsche now offers Aha™ as part of a new Online Services option, available across its entire product line. Aha is a free service that seamlessly organizes and integrates your favorite content from the web between your phone and car, so you can easily access it wherever you go, including in your Porsche. The new feature is available on vehicles equipped with the latest generation of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, which offers a variety of additional entertainment, navigation and information options.

The Aha experience starts with a customer using their Apple iOS or Android device to download the free Aha Radio app. The app allows customers to easily access and organize their favorite content from the web into personalized “radio”-like stations. This content can then be easily and seamlessly enjoyed inside their Porsche though the same PCM interface used to control other typical entertainment and navigation functions.

Aha™ offers the following content options:
• On-demand music services, entertainment, news, sports, internet radio, podcasts and audiobooks
• More than 30,000 stations, with new content added all the time
• Read aloud access to social network feeds, including Facebook™ and Twitter
• Traffic and weather reports
• Personalized restaurant recommendations
• Google POI search

With the Google POI feature, the results of an online point-of-interest search can be used as a navigation destination, and input directly into the PCM at the press of a button.

Production of vehicles equipped with the Online Services option has already begun. The feature is available across the Porsche lineup in the United States as a standalone option on vehicles equipped with PCM for $210.

A Porsche Cayenne GTS equipped with Online Services and Aha will be available for demonstrations to media at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas from January 8-11, 2013 at the Aha by Harman tent at the Central Plaza (# CP-13) at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Beverly Hills Porsche is committed to keeping you connected. To find out more about Aha visit us at 8425 Wilshire Blvd. Just one block east of La Cienega in the City of Beverly Hills.

Porsche Boxster S is Autoweek's Best of the Best Car for 2013

Shortly after appearing alongside the all new Porsche Cayman at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show the Boxster continues to grab the attention of the press from every corner of the world. It's awards season in Beverly Hills so let's see who's the best for 2013!

The new Porsche Boxster S, has received yet another accolade, as this week it was named the 2013 Best of the Best/Car by Autoweek magazine– defeating more than a dozen contenders. This is the fifth major U.S. award for the Boxster since its launch in June 2012.

“As the only brand to have two models make our list of top five finalists, Porsche showed up in force,” said Wes Raynal, editor of Autoweek. “Both the Boxster S and 911 are stellar vehicles, but ultimately the Boxster S proved an absolute delight to drive, and it claimed the title.”

The third-generation Boxster is the latest mid-engine offering from Porsche and was completely redesigned for 2012. Taking styling cues from its heritage, the new Boxster pays homage to the Porsche 550 Spyder and Carrera GT models from decades past.

The annual Autoweek Best of the Best awards are determined by Autoweek’s team of editors and include car and truck models that are publicly available and all-new or substantially new for 2013. The judges chose five cars and five trucks as finalists from the list of three dozen competitors, scoring each vehicle on various criteria including drivetrain, ride quality, handling, exterior, interior design and “fun factor.” This year, the finalists in the car category were the Porsche Boxster S, Porsche 911, Cadillac ATS, Subaru BRZ and Dodge Dart.

Autoweek editor Wes Raynal presented trophies to the Best of the Best winners in the car and truck categories at an awards ceremony on Tuesday.
